We hope that all of our students experienced an enjoyable March Break with time to rest and enjoy some free time. As we continue on our Lenten journey and our journey of learning, students should be ready to regain their focus and put forth their personal best as they move full speed ahead with achieving their learning goals. It will be an action packed few months, filled with many exciting learning experiences! Religion: Students will listen to and reflect upon the Gospel from this past Sunday and will explore some Catholic Organizations who specialize being missionaries to those in need. We will continue to reflect on the fasting and feasting we have been focused on since Ash Wednesday and begin to prepare our hearts and minds for Holy Week. Thank you to those students and their families who have made generous contributions to our school-wide Lenten Project in support of UNICEF- "Building Schools One Brick At A Time! Together we are making a difference and being the Good News! Math: *Mental Math *Daily Drills *Money- Counting Bricks for Schools Money Totals *Review of 2D and 3D shapes- riddles, partner tasks, show what you know *Measurement- How do we find out the dimensions of objects? Literacy: *Complete "Fable" Narratives writing *Editing Process- SPECO *Reading Comprehension- Reading and Responding to a variety of questions about texts *Communication- When I share my ideas and thinking does my message "stick" with my peers? Do I use our conversation prompts to contribute to learning conversations? Science: *Structures- What we've discovered so far about how to make structures strong and stable. *Famous Structures *Man Made vs Structures in Nature *Nanabush and the Brother Animals- Building a shelter for a brother animal- collaboration, critical thinking, communication, creativity, character.
