It is certainly hard to believe that we are entering into the last week in November! Time flies when you're on an exciting journey of learning in grade three! It was wonderful to meet with so many of you to discuss your child's progress thus far and to look ahead at the goals they will be working to achieve throughout the remainder of the first term.Thank you for playing a valuable part in your child's academic career! Here is how our week looks at a glance. Religion: This weekend marks the last Sunday in Ordinary time within the liturgical calendar. Beginning next Sunday, we will enter into the holy season of Advent. This week students will hear the Gospel from this past Sunday and will reflect upon the type of king Jesus was. Students will brainstorm ways that we as a 3A and 3B community can serve Jesus in our greater community as we prepare our hearts for the season of Advent. We will continue to explore ways that we can show the Gospel Value of Justice and the Grandfather teaching of Truth in our daily lives. Students are now aware that "Free Will" means that God has blessed us with the ability to make our own choices. The Holy Spirit guides the choices we make. Students had inspiring examples of how they can use their "Free Will" to make God's world a better place. This week, students will hear the Gospel from this past Sunday about using our gifts and talents for the good of others. As a school community we will gather to celebrate the Feast Day of St. Cecilia on November 22nd at 2:30 PM in our gymnasium.
Math
Last week students did an amazing job having "Math Talks" with partners about their Math work. They were explaining Math strategies to each other, defending their position and giving valuable feedback to one another in order to grow as Mathematicians! So inspiring and impressive! Science: Students put their C's into action within their Plants and Soil research groups. Many groups are well on their way to completing a presentation to build the knowledge of their peers on the subjects they became experts on! This will be a continued focus this week.
