When doing homework this week the students have been asked to show their thinking once again in math. We have placed a sample of what students' thinking may look like on time-relationship questions. Please see the sample on our resource page if needed. The students must tell the reader what time relationship they know.
eg. 1 week = 7 days, if it is relevant for the question. We have filled up our kindness jar.
Please only vote once! Today, your child will come home with some forms to be signed concerning an International initiative focused on supporting student's learning in today's digital world. Please take the time to read, sign and return these forms. For more information please go to www.newpedagogies.info. As well, please note that at no time will your child's first and last name be associated with their image or work.
Just a short note to let you know that when it asks permission for work to be shared or learning progression scales to be shared about your child's progress it in no way is referring to marks and student work. It is referring to how they are progressing on the 6 C's that the researchers are looking at - these includes character, collaboration, creativity, character, citizenship and critical thinking.
Thanks to all those who are able to volunteer their time for our skating dates (listed on the home page). Please meet us at the arena at the time posted. Should you be able to volunteer at the last minute, feel free to come on over. The more adults we have the faster laces are tied and students get onto the ice. As well, I (Mrs. B) don't skate very well, so if some adults can help Mrs. McCuen out that would be fantastic! We are looking to borrow: Boy's skates - size 2 Girl's skates - size 1 (Or a boy's 13) Please drop us a note if you can lend the skates for the dates listed. We will then contact you so that perhaps we can get the students to try them on before the 18th of January. Math We are finishing up our unit on temperature. For extra practice reading temperature please visit this link. Extra thermometer reading Here is another link to visit which lists a variety of sites to help build your child's temperature understanding Please note some are in Fahrenheit - so pick only those using Celsius Other links |
