Religion: We have now entered into the third week of our Advent journey! The third candle we light is the candle of Joy! We are joyfully waiting for Baby Jesus to be born in our hearts! We will celebrate a short liturgy together as a class to light the pink candle of "Joy" and will reflect on the many ways that Jesus brings joy to our lives. Last week students heard about the prophet Isaiah and how he was given the task to be God's messenger to the world to let all of the people know that God was sending a Saviour. This week students will hear about Mary and the Angel Gabriel, as well as Joseph and will retell the special part in which they played in the Nativity story. As we near the end of our Advent journey we would like to thank you for the generosity you have shown in the items that you have sent in for our Advent Hampers! We truly are a school community that are doing God's work on earth! Here is a Christmas prayer you may wish to say as a family on Christmas day! A Gift For Jesus Jesus, I want To give you Something very Special for your Birthday, for you are The Saviour, the Light of the World, the King of all Nations. I want to give you wonderful Gifts like the Wise Men gave: gold Frankincense and myrrh. But I have Nothing special to give you. And so, I Will give you what I do have: I will smile At you today by smiling at a lonely classmate I will talk to you today by visiting my elderly Neighbour. I will listen to you today by paying Attention in class. I will love you today by doing all My chores.
