Religion- This week students will hear and reflect on the Gospel from Sunday where Jesus tells us that He is the vine and we are the branches. Students will think about all of the ways that being connected to God can help us to to grow and be people of God. Later in the week, students will explore the some of the promises that God makes us in the bible through a Religion Workspace and will share out their reflections and new knowledge in a variety of ways using a variety of digital tools.
Physical Education:
Religion: This week students will hear the Gospel from Sunday where Jesus calls himself "The Good Shepherd." Students will reflect on the many ways that Jesus brings us closer to God just like a shepherd keeps his sheep close. Last week students wrote inspiring Earth Week prayers celebrating and giving thanks to God for the many precious gifts of creation. Literacy: *Reading and Writing Narratives *Responding to questions about a variety of narratives *Literacy Workspace- Contractions, Main Idea and Author's Purpose (PIE) Last week students were enthusiastically engaged in a variety of literacy tasks through Hapara Workspace. They completed tasks about compound words, homonyms, story beginnings and lists. Ask your child to show you some of the hard work they did. You'll be impressed! Math: *Mental Math *Daily Drills *Money *Geometric Shape Patterns *Mapping with ozobots *Math Workspace (time, money, graphs) Maker Time- *Creating "Celebrating Our Earth" mazes for ozobots Celebrate God's most precious gift - our Earth. Hoping you all enjoyed a blessed Easter Weekend with family and friends! The Easter season brings new beginnings and spring awakenings with the resurrection of Jesus. We have a busy and exciting journey of learning ahead of us over the course of the next few months and look forward to a lot of hard work and focused learning! Religion: This week, students will hear the Gospel reading from Easter Sunday and will reflect on it through the eyes of Jesus as they complete their Holy Week and Easter narrative through Jesus' eyes. Students will also explore what our fifty days of Easter is all about through stories and readings from our Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ program. Literacy: *Writer's Workshop lesson- Using dialogue in writing and appropriate use of quotation marks *Narrative- Reading and responding to a variety of narrative texts using details from the text and students' own ideas. When adding their own ideas we talked about questions where they might include "What they think," "What they would do," "How would they feel?," and Do they know anything about..." in order to include relevant ideas of their own. *Completion of Personal Narrative for Holy Week and Easter Math: *Perimeter- determining missing side lengths *Area *Money- counting, adding *Review from all strands of Math warm-ups
